Dear Parents/Caregivers

Assalaamu Alaikum WRWB

PRIMARY CAMP

Years 5 and 6 are going for 3 days camp at MERC in Browns Bay from tomorrow, Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th August. The bus for the camp will leave school tomorrow at 7.30am. Students are expected to be at school by 7.15am. The students will, inshallah, be back at school before 3.30pm on Friday 4th August.

STUDENT ID CARD

The students who had paid and were absent from school on the photo shoot-day, their photos will be taken tomorrow, Wednesday, 02 August. Please ensure your child is at school.

MCAT ASSESSMENT

Year 11 students Mathematics (MCAT) practice assessment is on 23 August from 8.40am to 9.40am.

Year 11 students Mathematics (MCAT) final exams will be on 12 September from 9am to 10am.

NETBALL TOURNMENT

Year 8G participated in the Southwest Zone Netball Tournament today. They displayed excellent sportsmanship and teamwork and played 8 other schools in the zone. Well done to the team for their commitment and dedication.

MOE ATTENDANCE INTERVENTIONS

Parent and caregivers must send their child/children to school on time on a regular basis.  If they are absent for any genuine reason, please send a note and/or doctors’ medical certificate to the school.

Any students who have 5 days unjustified absent in a term will now need intervention recorded against them. This information will be sent to the Ministry of Education (MOE) automatically each week.

Students with 5 days absent can be identified and filled in under Attendance\Interventions.

School may refer the cases of those students who are continuously absent and / or not punctual to school to higher authorities.

Gardening- OKE Charity

AMS would like to thank OKE Charity and their team for donating and setting up our school gardens over the weekend with the support of staff and student volunteers. OKE Charity has provided our school with 12 garden beds, greenhouse for seedlings, fruit plants, tool sheds and gardening tools.

Year 1-2 Literacy Evening DETAILS

Date: Wednesday 16th August 2023.

Time: 4-5pm Venue: TBC via class dojo.

Year 1 and 2 parents are invited to a literacy evening in Week 5. The purpose of this event is to share some skills and activities parents can do at home with their child/children to help them to read and write.
