Ustadh Asin Ali – The Principal’s Message

Assalaamu Alaikum WRWB

Starting in the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful, I thank Allah (SWT) for giving us the Imaan and creating us in the Ummah of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W). We are very fortunate to be in Aotearoa – New Zealand enjoying all sorts of benefits including having an excellent educational system as well as having the freedom to practice our belief system.

Alhamdulillah, the school has progressed very well since its inception in 1992. Al-Madinah continues to promote the teaching as inquiry within the new Hubs in which the ILE (Innovative Learning Environment) is a dominant feature . The staff members have gone through a number of different types of Professional Developments, both in – house and outside of school. This has had a major impact on the consistency in the pedagogical practices of the teachers across the school. As a result we have seen a consistent rise in the students’ achievements data. In particular we have a seen much better and consistent NCEA and UE  results.

Our students have engaged in a variety of learning opportunities that promote the holistic development of students. We continue to strive to enable our students to be responsible Kiwi Muslims and Global Citizens. Students have participated in various sports, oratory, competitions, learning outside the classroom activities, charity and community work. We have performed very well in all the activities we have participated. In the recent years our students have been coming up top in local inter-schools’ speech competitions.

The Darul Uloom, which runs an accelerated learning programme for students seeking extra qualifications towards religious education, is the centre of attraction for many parents. Hence a number of students have taken advantage by memorizing the Holy Qur’aan/or taken its in-depth studies.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank all staff, parents/caregivers, the Governance members, donors and well-wishers who have contributed to the success of this school.

May Allah (SWT) guide us onto the right path and shower his blessings on the entire humanity.

Asin Ali
