Dear Parents/Caregivers

Assalaamu Alaikum WRWB

EXAMINATION

End of Year (EOY) Practice Examination for years 11-13 is from Tuesday 12 September to Thursday 21 September 2023.  It is important that students attend the practice exam. Exam will finish by 12.00 noon and normal classes will resume after exam. Timetable has been given to the students.

NZQA MCAT Examination will take place tomorrow 12 September 2023 from 9.00am – 10.00am.  All year 11 students who have been entered for the exam must sit the exam.

PRE-SCHOOL

There will be a meeting on Wednesday 13 September 2023 at 2.00pm at the school regarding establishing a pre-school at Airport Mosque.  The meeting will be an hour long. Parents/caregivers are invited to attend.

SECONDARY SPORTS DAY

Secondary students will be having sports day on Friday 22 September 2023.

Museum Trip for Years 7 to 10 Students!

Years 7 to 10 boys and girls excursion to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. This visit is related to their Social Science study of Aotearoa.

Date & Schedule:

  • For Girls (Years 7 to 10): 11th Sept 2023
  • For Boys (Years 7 to 10): 13th Sept 2023

This museum visit promises an enriching experience, aligning perfectly with their ongoing studies. Our students will actively participate in the captivating “He Panga Tuatahi – First Contact” program. This immersive experience is thoughtfully designed to enhance their understanding of the subject matter, making learning come alive.  Furthermore, during the excursion, students will have the unique opportunity for a self-guided tour session. This will enable them to explore the museum’s extensive collection of exhibits at their own pace, delving deeper into the rich history and culture of Aotearoa.

STRATEGIC PLANNING MEETING

As part of strategic planning development for 2024/25, face-2-face consultation meeting with the parents will be held on Wed 20 Sept 2023 from 2.00pm onwards.  Refreshment will be served. More details will be sent later.

CARPARK

Alhamdulillah, the carpark in between Al-Madinah School and Zayed College for Girls is now open for parents to use.  Please note there is no right turn from the carpark.

BAKE SALE

Jazaakallahu Khairan to the parents for sending cakes, muffins etc for bake sale and continuously supporting the school for SPCA fundraising.

Al-Madinah School Shines in Young Reporters for the Environment Competition

We are thrilled to announce that Al-Madinah School has achieved remarkable success in this year’s Young Reporters for the Environment National Competition. Our students displayed exceptional dedication to environmental awareness and action, resulting in impressive outcomes.

The competition revolved on the theme of waste reduction, challenging students from Year 7 to Year 10, as well as Year 13 Geography students, to investigate and propose solutions to this critical issue.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Social Studies Teachers who guided and mentored these students, nurturing their passion for environmental journalism.  These achievements exemplify our students’ dedication to raising environmental awareness and advocating for positive change. They serve as a call to action for all of us.

Congratulations to Mohammed Shoaib Shafiq Khan, Sayeeda Binte Sharif, and Musa Haydar Junaid. Your accomplishments inspire us to protect our planet actively.  Let’s draw inspiration from their success and continue working for a greener, more sustainable future. Together, we can make a difference.

Intermediate Rehu Tai Inter-class Speech Competition

Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 students participated in the above competition and Alhamdulillah it went well with excellent speakers and audience.

School finishes for Term 3 on Friday 22 September 2023 at 2.30pm   Term 4 starts on Monday 9 October 2023.

IED TRUST – ELLERSLIE ISLAMIC CENTRE

Jazaakallahu Khairan to the parents/caregivers and the community at large for your support so far towards helping raise funds in purchasing the Favona Islamic Centre.  IED Trust once again has a unique opportunity to purchase a church at 5 Ballarat Street Ellerslie, East Auckland.   Parents/caregivers are requested to, once again, donate towards this very important and strategically located project.
