Dear Parents/Caregivers

Assalaamu Alaikum WRWB

LEARNER LICENCE COURSE

Those students who turned 16 have completed their Learner Licence Course and received their Learner Licence at AMS.

NEW ZEALAND NATIONAL IJTIMA

National Ijtima will be at Al-Madinah School.  This will start from Maghrib Friday 2nd June to Fajr of Monday 5th June 2023.  All brothers are invited to attend.  Please encourage other brothers to attend as well.

NETBALL COMPETITION

Some Years 5 and 6 girls are taking part in the MOSA Netball Competition on Wednesday 7th June (Save Date: 9th June) at Auckland Netball Centre from 8.00-3pm.

STARDOME TRIP FOR YEARS 1 – 4

Years 1-4 students will be going to Stardome in Week 8 as part of their Science Topic from 12pm to 3pm.

Year 4 – Monday 19th June

Year 3 – Tuesday 20th June

Year 1 – Wednesday 21st June

Year 2 – Thursday 22nd June

SECONDARY GIRLS SCHOOL PRODUCTION

The Secondary Girls school production “Sabr” will be on June 22nd at the Mangere Arts Centre. Further details to follow.

PARENT TEACHER MEETING

Parent teacher meeting for years 1-13 will be on 26 July 2023.  Details about booking will be sent later.

JUMPING JUNE FOR YEARS 1-8

Years 1-8 students will take part in the charity fundraiser – Jumping June! This is a sponsored programme through which we hope to raise much needed funds for The Heart Foundation. The school event (skipping) will be held on 28 June 2023 giving students 4 weeksto get excited and to collect online sponsorship for their big day!  Your child will bring home a letter this week with instructions on how to join the online fundraiser. If need be please contact the class teachers for further information if need be.

REMINDERS

 1. ATTENDANCE DUES

Alhamdulillah, most of the parents have paid their attendance dues in full. Those parents/caregivers who have still not paid are requested to pay before the end of term 2.

2.  ZUHAR/JUMMAH SALAH TIME AT AMS

Mon – Thurs 1.40pm – 2.00pm

Fridays – Jummah from 1.40pm – 2.15pm

Parents/caregivers are advised NOT to pick-up your child/children during the above times. If there is any urgent appointment during these timing, please pick them up before salah.

Important dates for Years 10-13 students that parents can take note of when planning events and to help prepare their children for assessments:

31/10/23: Year 10NCEA corequisite       reading.

01/11/23: NCEA corequisite writing 02/11/23: NCEA corequisite numeracy.

12/09/23: Year 11 NCEA MCAT

04/09/23: to 22/09/23: Years 11-13 – NCEA

                practice exams

18/10/23: NCEA DT

06/11/23 to 28/11/23: NCEA and  

                scholarship external exams
