TERM ONE – 2022

Welcome back to all the staff and students. Special welcome to all the new students and staff. Jazaakallahu khairan to all the parents/caregivers for sending your child/children well prepared for school. You are requested to label all the stationery, uniform bags, pencil case etc.

SCHOOL HOURS DURING TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM (LEVEL 3)

The school starts for ALL students at 8:30am.

School break timings from Monday -Thursday:

Years 11 to 13 plus their siblings at 3.00pm

Years 9 and 10 plus their siblings at 3.10pm

Years 7 and 8 plus their siblings at 3.15pm

Years 5 and 6 and their siblings at 3.20pm

Rest of the school at 3.25pm.

 

School break timings for Fridays:

Years 11-13 plus their siblings at 2.10pm

Years 9 and 10 plus their siblings at 2.15pm

Years 7 and 8 plus their siblings at 2.12pm

Years 5 and 6 and their siblings at 2.25pm

Rest of the school at 2.30pm.

REMINDER

Parents are reminded to communicate with their childs/childrens class teacher/s on Class Dojo with issues to do with their child/children.

LATE/ABSENCES TO SCHOOL

Unless provided on the very first day, when a student is absent from school a note must be sent to school on the day the student returns, explaining the reason for the absence. The note must show the date and parent’s signature. Unexplained or prolonged absences will be followed up.

For late arrivals ALL STUDENTS must report to the school office and get late pass which is to be given to the their class teacher. Continuous late arrivals will be followed up by the School Dean. Text messages will be sent home of those students who are absent from school and/or late to school. It is very important that parents/caregivers reply to the text. The attendance officer may become involved should a problem persist. Parents are kindly requested not to send their child/children to school if they are unwell.

ATTENDANCE DUES

Attendance dues is compulsory in state-integrated school like Al-Madinah, parents need to pay them. Parents of ALL STUDENTS are expected to pay as it is a condition of enrolment. This sum may be paid in advance or by direct debit to the proprietor and is used for capital works. The Annual Attendance Dues is $252.00 per student. This is applicable to all students.

CAREERS INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

On Friday 11/02/22 there will be a zoom session arranged with the University of Auckland for careers information for parents of years 9 to 13 students. All parents and students can join in from 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Zoom link will be emailed this week. Parents and caregivers are requested to attend the zoom session to better understand and support the career pathways of their children.

NCEA ASSESSMENT AUTHENTICITY FORMS

Years 11-13 students must return the completed forms by Friday (11/02/22).

The form to be signed by the parents.

NCEA EXAMS 2021 REVIEWS AND RECONSIDERATIONS

All paper exams for 2021 will be scanned and digital copies will be returned to students. Students need to check their learner login for the return of their exam papers and the application form for reviews and reconsideration.

  • DVC portfolios is returned to school.
  • Due date for reviews and reconsideration application: 25/02/22
  • Reviews cost: Nil
  • Reconsideration cost: $20.40

UNIFORM PURCHASE HOURS

Uniform will only be sold from Monday to Thursday starting from 3.30pm to 4.00pm.  Parents and caregivers are requested to come during the above hours.

FRUITS IN SCHOOL PROGRAM

Fruits in school will start from next week Monday 14 February 2022.

SCHOOL LUNCHES

The school canteen provides healthy lunches to the students. Price is $4.00 serve. Lunches can be ordered daily through the classroom teachers by 8.45am.

ROAD CROSSING

All students and parents must use pedestrian crossing for the safety of everybody.
