Dear Parents/Caregivers

TERM ONE – 2021

Welcome back to all the staff and students. Special welcome to all the new students and staff. Jazaakallahu khairan to all the parents/caregivers for sending your child/children well prepared for school. You are requested to label all the stationery, uniform bags, pencil case etc.

The school starts at 8:30am. Primary students have morning fitness before school starts. Hence all students are encouraged to participate.

Year 1 students are to be picked-up from their classrooms between 3.15pm – 3.35pm on Monday to Thursday and 2.15 – 2.35pm on Fridays.  Those year 1 students who are   NOT picked by 3:35pm will be taken to main office. Parents who are coming late must pick them from the main office.

All other students will be taken to the gate by class teachers and if they are not picked up by 3.40pm, they will wait in the veranda of Westney Road side of rooms near Rooms AD1, AD2 and AD3.  Please note that there will be no supervision after 3.40pm. Hence it will be the responsibility of the parents to pick their child/children.

SCHOOL HOURS

Students must be in school by no later than 8.20am.  The school finishes at 3.30pm from Monday to Thursday.  On Fridays the school finishes at 2.30pm.  All parents/caregivers must pick up their children immediately after the school break.

LATE/ABSENCES TO SCHOOL

When a student is absent from school a note must be sent to school on the day the student returns, explaining the reason for the absence. The note must show the date and parent’s signature. Unexplained or prolonged absences will be followed up.

For late arrivals ALL STUDENTS must report to the school office and get late pass which is to be given to the class teachers. Continuous late arrivals will be followed up by the Deans. Text messages will be sent home of those students who are absent from school and/or late to school. It is very important that parents/caregivers reply to the text. The attendance officer may become involved should a problem persist. Parents are kindly requested not to send their child/children to school if they are unwell.

ATTENDANCE DUES

Attendance dues is compulsory in state-integrated school like Al-Madinah, parents need to pay them. Parents of ALL STUDENTS are expected to pay as it is a condition of enrolment. This sum may be paid in advance or by direct debit to the proprietor and is used for capital works. The Annual Attendance Dues is $246.00 per student. This is applicable to all students.

ROAD CROSSING

All students and parents must use pedestrian crossing for the safety of everybody.

UNIFORM PURCHASE HOURS

Uniform will only be sold from Monday to Thursday starting from 3.30pm to 4.00pm.  Parents and caregivers are requested to come during the above hours.

SCHOOL LUNCHES

The school canteen provides healthy lunches to the students. Lunches can be ordered daily through the classroom teachers by 8.45am.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY

School will be closed on Monday 08 February for Waitangi Day.

2020 NCEA & UE PASS RESULTS

Level 1 – 97.2%

Level 2 – 92.3%

Level 3 – 100%

NCEA and CAREERS INFORMATION EVENING FOR STUDENTS and PARENTS

There is a NCEA and Careers information evening for years 11-13 parents and students on Thursday 11/2/21 from 7pm to 8pm in AMS Hall.

PRIMARY PARENT EVENING

Primary teachers will meet parents to share class expectation on 16/2/21 from 5-6.30pm. More details will be given by class teachers.

BREAKFAST KICKSTART PROGRAM 

We still need names for those needy children who will need to be given breakfast in school. Parents to pass the names to class teachers. Fonterra milk programme has now finished. Milk will be given to year 1 students in Term 1 only.
